Data to Action:
Strategizing for 2025

OPGS recently announced the development of the first-ever system of data/surveillance for problem gambling.

The surveillance system establishes reliable, dependable, and actionable data to lead and inform the mitigation of harms. Part of that development is the Data to Action Framework, which was designed to illustrate the process through which public health data and community experience can be leveraged to inform and support each other in a mutually reinforcing feedback loop. Respecting community members as authentic partners, building relationships, maintaining transparency, and promoting accountability are at the core.

Data to Action Framework flow chart. Includes evaluation and quality improvement, monitoring and surveillance, contextualizing data, comprehensive and responsive services.

Annual Vendor Convening

In continuation of our mission to authentically engage communities, OPGS brought together community partners from across the Commonwealth during its annual vendor-convening meeting.

The Office presented gambling-related results from the 2023 Massachusetts Youth Health Survey and the 2022 Adult Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Survey to more than 23 community-based organizations and 60 staff members in attendance. Thank you to all those who joined us!
