OPGS to Increase Screening Efforts During National Recovery Month

In Fall 2025, the Massachusetts Technical Assistance Center for Problem Gambling Treatment (M-TAC) will launch a series of problem gambling screening efforts in honor of National Recovery Month.

One of the fundamental strategies of public health is screening as a means to early detection. By increasing screening and assessment efforts as well as dissemination of information, we are elevating the possibility for early detection so people can address problem gambling concerns as they arise.

Organizations who are interested in hosting a Screening Day event have the opportunity to raise awareness of problem gambling in their communities, and to screen individuals who may be impacted and/or experiencing gambling-related harm. Awardees will receive:

• Screening Day Best Practices Guide

• Introductory training on Screening for Gambling Disorder

• Access to attend a live (virtual) Technical Assistance (TA) Session

• Resources, materials, and promotional items

• Downloadable links to materials

• A stipend of up to $5,000 per awardee
